Agency Overview Catawba Area Agency on Aging (Catawba AAA) is the area agency on aging for the Chester, Lancaster, Union and York counties of South Carolina. The area agency of aging in the Catawba region is a freestanding, private non-profit organization that devotes 100% of its time to aging issues. The Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, and the recent reauthorized Older Americans Act of 2000, charges the area agency on aging to plan, fund and coordinate community care and advocacy programs for the older adults who live in the Catawba region. As the designated regional focal point on aging, Catawba AAA acts as a leader for aging issues on behalf of the more than 45,000 older persons living in our four-county region. The area agency on aging serves people age 60 and older or the caregivers of people age 60+. Catawba AAA seeks to assist the entire population of the region, realizing that all generations have a stake in aging issues. |
