Catawba Area Agency on Aging
Connecting Catawba Region’s older adults, persons with disabilities and family members to options, services and support.
100% Focus on Aging
Catawba Area Agency on Aging (Catawba AAA) is the designated Area Agency on Aging for the Chester, Lancaster, Union and York counties of South Carolina. Catawba AAA is a freestanding, private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization that devotes 100% of its time to aging issues.
Catawba AAA seeks to assist the entire population of the four-county region, realizing that all generations have a stake in aging issues.
The Older Americans Act
The Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, charges the Area Agency on Aging to plan, fund and coordinate community care and advocacy programs for the older adults who live in the Catawba region.
Where We Get Funding
Catawba AAA is supported by funds from the federal and state governments through the South Carolina Department on Aging. We also depend on local funding and grants. We then directly provide or contract with local agencies for vital services needed by older adults in our communities. We monitor all programs, assuring that resources are used properly and effectively.
